The award-winning design-build firm Powell, based in Nashville and responsible for many of the city's most notable hospitality spaces, has announced the launch of its residential division. The new division is led by Principal and Director of Residential Construction Brandon Ketcham. Powell's residential division will apply its integrated design-build process to residential spaces, combining architecture, interior design, construction, furniture procurement, and craft into a single client-focused service.

As Nashville experiences rapid growth, there is an increased demand for residential services from clients who want the same high-quality design and seamless boutique construction offered by Powell's commercial work. Brandon Ketcham explains that they started taking on residential construction projects selectively two years ago, and now they are extending their design-build services to residences as a single-source provider.

Powell's business model, which breaks down traditional barriers between disciplines to ensure quality, communication, and cost-effectiveness, is unique in the industry. They are one of the few Nashville design-build firms with architecture, interior design, and contracting licenses under one entity. Their distinctive aesthetic and collaborative spirit have earned them a reputation for setting the foundation for Nashville's burgeoning restaurant and hospitality scene. In the past five years, business has grown tenfold, and the team has expanded from four to 35 employees.

With the launch of the residential division, homeowners in Nashville and Williamson County can benefit from Powell's unique design-build model. The firm offers a wide range of capabilities, from custom builds to historic renovations, and can be involved in an entire project or just one aspect of it. Powell can also be hired for individual services or any combination of architecture, construction, interior design, and furniture/decor procurement. They enjoy collaborating with others in the industry to bring their clients' visions to life.

The residential team now consists of six individuals, including CEO Luke Tidwell; Chief Development Officer and General Contractor Chad Roberts; Chief Creative Officer and Lead Interior Designer Katie Vance; Principal and Director of Residential Construction Brandon Ketcham; Senior Architecture Project Manager Ian Lee; and Residential Project Manager Tyler Wortham. The team has completed the construction of a luxury custom home in Franklin, and new projects are underway in Green Hills, Belle Meade, and Brentwood that will benefit from the new residential architectural services.

Brandon Ketcham, who has been with the firm since 2021, oversees all residential construction. A graduate of the University of Florida, Ketcham brings extensive experience in high-end, custom home construction, having overseen the construction of hundreds of houses during his 20-plus-year career.
